Handwoven Lidded Basket in Yellow and Light Purple
Handwoven Lidded Basket in Yellow and Light Purple
This beautiful basket is handwoven by the Meh Meri tribe, an indigenous minority of Peninsular Malaysia.
This is one of the more intricate weaving designs by the artisan. This pattern is more contemporary and is gorgeous when placed in a room with a similar checkered pattern or element, like in the wallpaper, rug or cushions.
This basket is fully handmade -from cutting the pandan leaves, to dying it, to drying it and weaving it. There is no other identical basket as each is uniquely made one by one by master weavers. This is an exclusive product that you cannot find an exact replica anywhere else. Be the only one person in the world to own it.
Use this basket to hold your precious momento, or your stationary in your office. The matching lid will protect your items from dust and sun. You can even use it to store spices in your kitchen, placed beautifully on your counter.
Personally I like to use it to safely store my many washi tapes, stickers and stationaries. I also use these beautiful lidded baskets anywhere in replace of the plain, white and transparent plastic home organising containers that can be quite boring.
These baskets add so much more character, texture, depth and feel to my interior space. And they're just so lovely to look at!
Just how genuine leather forms patina, these baskets will have gradual change in colour, texture and overall appearance over time. This is one of the charms and appeal of the natural material, pandanus leaves that is weaved to make this one-of-a-kind basket.
